Your first Appointment

When you attend an appointment with us we will first ask you for a few details about your dog such as Health Problems he/she may have or any problems we should know about.

  • In most cases your dog will be given a rough clip at this stage to get rid of any matted coat and checking which shampoo to use whilst checking for Parasites, Skin Problems etc…

  • Washing your Dog comes next, Anal Glands are checked at this stage.

  • Drying, a very important part of the process it prepares the dog's coat for a neat finish, also it gives us a chance to see every part of the dogs skin for early detection of health problems.

  • Your dog is now ready for the final Clipping and Scissoring to a very high standard with the Nails trimmed and Teeth checked. A dog you can be proud of.

Below you will see the reason why good Grooming is so important to your dog.

Cleanliness
Keeping your dog clean requires washing to remove dirt from the skin and coat, and brushing to prevent matting and maintain a clean coat.

Health
Aids your dogs' health and well-being by keeping the coat and skin healthy, stimulating new growth by grooming to remove dead, shedding hair. Checking eyes, ears, skin, feet and teeth.

Appearance
Caring owners take pride in there dogs appearance and look for professional grooming to promote this. Regular grooming keeps your dog looking true to breed and maintains a healthy appearance. Brushing your dog every day goes a long way towards the healthy appearance of your dog too.

Inspection
The regular inspection of your dog will help detect early signs of disease, parasites, wounds etc… before they take hold, saving you expensive vetinary bills, and also can save your dogs life when vetinary treatment should be sought if a sinister lump or disease etc… is detected and treated early.

Relationship
When dogs are brushed by their owners it strengthens the relationship and creates a bond. Animals naturally groom each other as part of a pack socialisation, so when owners groom their dog that relationship is re-enforced. Grooming also helps with basic training.
